Dear teacher:
I am wangning from shanghai jiaotong university, math and science college. My major is math and applied math.

I am a person full of passion towards life. Firstly, I keep a pure love for nature. In the past three years, I walked around the campus many times in my free time just to enjoy its beautiful scenery. All elements of nature including wind, sunshine, and rain make me feel pleasant. Secondly, I like sports, particularly in badminton and swimming. I keep playing badminton and swimming weekly. I like to refresh myself by doing sports and enrich my campus life. Thirdly, I take an active part in voluntary services. I want to bring a little more happiness to others through my own effort.

I am a person who strive for a comprehensive development all the time. Firstly, I worked hard in study and tried many contests to improve my ability of using knowledge. I like to learn new things and keep trying. For example, by doing a project in big data I found my interest in machine learning and data analysis and I am now learning more about R language and machine learning theory in a seminar. Secondly, in order to improve my comprehensive ability, I joined the students’ union of my college. In the two years, I managed to get tasks done positively and contributed my own ideas to the development of the students’ union. Thirdly, I was focused on building my values. During the semester, I took many lectures and tried to read more to have more thoughts. My favourite writer in the university is sanmao and I read  most of her publications. In the past two summer vacations, I participated two social practices in eryuan, Yunnan and shenzhen separately. By social practices, I managed to have a more real understanding of the national conditions, including the need for getting out of poverty in eryuan and the rapid developmet of eastern coastal area like Shenzhen. The unbalanced development of the eastern and western regions makes me hope that in the future I can make some contribution to the western region out of poverty despite the fact that I live in the developed eastern region. In my opinion, the elimination of pain is more important than the addition of happiness in a sense.
My life motto is：”Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high.”. I love life and am determined to make daily progress towards a better myself.
