<span leaf="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">上海交通大学口腔医学院的前身是震旦大学医学院牙医系，创建于1932年。1952年9月，全国高等学校院系调整，由圣约翰大学医学院、同德医学院与震旦大学医学院合并，成立上海第二医学院，牙医系则改称为上海第二医学院口腔医学系，这是新中国成立初期全国最早建立的4个口腔医学系之一。1987年10月，更名为上海第二医科大学口腔医学院。2005年7月，上海第二医科大学与上海交通大学合并，同年10月，随之更名为上海交通大学口腔医学院。学院是中国最早建立、最顶尖的口腔医学院校之一，拥有两位中国工程院院士，是我国高层次口腔医学专业人才的培养基地。</span>

<span leaf="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">学科建设有国际口腔颌面外科医师协会授权的口腔肿瘤外科与修复重建培训中心（国内首家）、英国爱丁堡皇家外科学院头颈与颌面肿瘤培训中心（英国境外全球首家）、口腔正畸培训和考试中心（亚洲唯一）等7个国际培训/考试中心以及上海-悉尼联合研究中心-生物工程与再生医学国际联合实验室、上海-新西兰口腔医学联合实验室-口腔颅颌面基础与临床研究中心。深化与瑞典卡罗林斯卡医学院（KI）、日本大阪齿科大学等15所国际顶尖院校的伙伴关系，“十四五”期间累计派出120余名研究生赴海外研修，并与悉尼大学牙学院、奥塔哥大学牙学院签署了合作备忘录，为学院的国际化发展注入了新的活力。成功主办国际学术会议、培训班，在国际上享有一定声誉。毕业生成功申请到美国北卡罗来纳大学、加拿大麦吉尔大学、英国国王学院、荷兰Leiden大学、澳大利亚悉尼大学、日本东北大学、香港大学等境外学校，继续攻读硕士或博士学位。</span>
