<span style="box-sizing: border-box;">中国科学院合肥物质科学研究院核能安全技术研究所（简称“核能安全所”，英文缩写为INEST），成立于2012年4月，由中国科学院合肥物质科学研究院和中国科学技术大学联合创建，是中国科学院内专业从事先进核能科学与技术及系统安全科研的研究机构。研究所坐落于安徽省合肥市西郊蜀山湖畔风景宜人的科学岛上，依托建立了微小型反应堆技术安徽省重点实验室、国家能源液态重金属反应堆研发（实验）中心（筹）、安徽省核应急专业技术支持中心和中国科学院所级公共技术中心，具有博士、硕士学位授予资格和博士后流动站，现有人员300余人。</span>

<span style="box-sizing: border-box;">核能安全所面向国家重大需求，围绕先进核能科学技术、聚焦微小反应堆关键技术开展基础性、前瞻性、战略性研究。研究方向涵盖核材料与结构安全、反应堆与系统安全、辐射防护与环境安全、核应急与公共安全、核技术及应用等。建成并运行了液态金属回路与材料技术综合实验平台、先进核能系统仿真与核技术综合实验平台、强流辐射物理与探测技术综合实验平台等重要装置平台。承担了国家“973”/“863”计划、国家重点研发计划、国际热核聚变实验堆（ITER）计划、战略高技术领域等重大项目200余项。研究所相关科研成果获国家自然科学二等奖、安徽省科技进步奖、安徽省科技合作奖及国家能源科学技术进步奖等多项重要奖项。</span>
