                                                      <span style="line-height: 107%; font-family: 微软雅黑, sans-serif; box-sizing: border-box;">北京大学量子材料科学中心致力研究凝聚态物理和量子材料科学的前沿问题，推进以量子科学为基础的高新技术的发展。量子材料的研究始于半个世纪以前凝聚态物理学家对量子多体问题的研究。人们发现量子力学在各种宏观层面上的表达与演生规律是“涌现”的。材料中电子的量子力学效应“涌现”出多种具有奇特物性的材料，被称为量子材料。量子材料的研究突破了用还原论思想研究物理问题的旧有模式，带给我们许多认识和理解物质世界的新方法和理念。例如人们发现量子材料中的相变现象不一定用“对称性破缺”来描述；量子材料体系中可以“发现”许多高能物理中的基本粒子；量子材料中低维、表面和界面的研究为人们调控材料物性带来了诸多可能。对量子材料的研究已经成为整个物理学研究最有活力的领域之一。</span>
