生命科学联合中心是为了加速我国一流大学建设，在国家支持下由教育部、科技部、财政部设计、组织，清华大学与北京大学密切配合，按照“统一领导、顶层设计、强强联合、务实发展、动态调整”的原则组建的，是科研和教育体制改革的重大措施。目标是通过改革教育和科研的相关制度，吸引与汇聚热心教育的优秀科学家，以出色的理论教学和尖端的研究并重，培养拔尖创新人才，造就一流的生命科学研究与教育中心。

<span style="text-indent: 2em; box-sizing: border-box;">为促进生命科学发展，探索创新性人才培养模式，生命中心每年利用暑假时间，面向全国高校本科生，甄选生命科学中的特别领域，举办暑期培训班。暑期培训班将充分发挥生命中心两校联合、师资与科研上的优势，并延请国内外知名学者，以激发学生兴趣，培育未来精英为目标，让学生在培训中了解领域内前沿问题，开拓思路，引导创新性的思维习惯。</span>

<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">“分子生物学与前沿技术”</strong>面向全国高校内对生命科学有浓厚兴趣，有志于从事和生命科学相关领域研究的在读本科生（需完成大学一年级或二年级课程）。

<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">“定量生物学”</strong>面向全国高校内对定量生物学有浓厚兴趣，有志从事定量生物学相关领域研究的在读本科生（需完成大学一年级或二年级课程的物理、数学、计算机、生信、生物等专业学生）。此外，7月22-24日，国际定量生物学会议q-Bio Conference将在北大举行，暑期学校的优秀学员将获得免注册费和食宿费用参与该会议的机会。
